A self-service storage agent is an owner or managing agent of a self-service storage facility who is authorized to offer or sell insurance in connection with and incidental to the rental of space at a self-service storage faciity. The insurance covers people who store personal property located at the facility for loss or damage to the personal property. Employees of the self-service storage facility must be provided training by the self-service storage agent, but are not individually licensed to offer or sell self-service storage coverage.
