Rental Car Agent

DEFINITION

A rental car agent is a business entity that rents vehicles and offers or sells short-term insurance policies under a group or master policy in connection with and incidental to rental car agreements. Salaried employees of the rental car agent do not need to be individually licensed to act on behalf of the rental car company under the rental car agent license. The rental car agent is required to train its employees.. ARS § 20-331.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS (not an exhaustive list)

Not everyone qualifies for an insurance license. The Department can deny a license for any cause listed in Arizona Revised Statutes ("ARS") § 20-295. You should review these statutes before deciding to spend the time, effort and money to apply for a license. If you apply for a license, you must truthfully and completely answer questions asked on the application, and you may need to provide additional documentation.
